(ABC 6 News) - A Mower County man was arrested and is facing possible charges after a woman who was with him told a convenience store employee that she "needed help."

According to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi, around 12:30 p.m. Monday the victim and 44-year-old Ryan Sanvick drove to a convenience store in the Dexter area.  Amazi said the woman approached an employee at the store and said she "needed help."

Amazi said she then exited the store, got into a red pick-up truck with a man and what appeared to be a small child.

The employee got the license plate number of the truck and called 911.

Investigators traced the truck to an address in rural Sargeant.

Amazi said Mower County deputies, the Grand Meadow Police Chief, and a state trooper responded.

Sanvick was arrested and is facing a possible 5th-degree assault charge.
