RPD: Teen Could be Linked to Recent Burglaries in NW Rochester

(ABC 6 News) -- A Rochester teen is facing a number of charges after officers said they found drugs and weapons in his home.

On Friday, February 9, the Rochester Probation and Criminal Interdiction Unit went to the home of 18-year-old Souleysi Singharath on the 5700 block of Conway Ct. NW., for an alleged probation violation.  Authorities said his mother let them in the house, and once inside they found Singharath in bed, on top of a 9-millimeter handgun.  According to court records, Singharath was also in possession of a switchblade/metal knuckles.

Authorities also said they saw drugs in the room, and later came back to the property with a search warrant.  Once a search was conducted, officers said they found evidence of items taken during recent robberies in the area.

Singharath faces charges for probation violation, being a felon in possession of a firearm and having drugs and drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending.
