MONDAY--

Two Rochester men were arrested Sunday morning after officers said they assaulted two other men and fired a handgun.

According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, a woman was leaving a home on the 400 block of 14th St. NW around 1:10 a.m., November 26, when she noticed two people she knew, sitting in a vehicle near the home.  The woman told officers one of the men was a former friend of her brother.  The brother and a friend of his came out of the home and approached the vehicle, said Captain Sherwin.  An argument ensued and that’s when one of the men in the vehicle, 28-year-old Christopher Watson of Rochester, pulled out a handgun, said Captain Sherwin.

Captain Sherwin said one of the men outside the vehicle had the gun pointed at his head and was pistol-whipped by Christopher Watson.  At some point shots were fired, said Captain Sherwin, but no one was hit.

Christopher Watson and the other man in the vehicle, 24-year-old Shawn Watson, left the scene.  As officers began to search for the two men, Captain Sherwin said they saw two men on foot in the area of 10th Ave. and 14th St. who matched the description of the suspects.

Christopher and Shawn Watson were taken to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center and face a number of charges; including, second-degree assault and reckless discharge of a firearm.  Captain Sherwin said Christopher Watson also has prior felony convictions and faces a felon in possession of a weapon charge.
