Rochester Shooting Suspect Arrested on Domestic Abuse Charges

(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police say the suspect came home drunk and assaulted a family member early Tuesday morning. 

It happened at an apartment on the 900 block of 41st St NW around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 20. According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, 24-year-old Deante Stanifer came to the apartment intoxicated and got angry and began assaulting a female. He allegedly broke a mirror and grabbed the woman by the neck, making it hard for her to breath.

When police got there, they say Stanifer was still angry and was kicking and banged his head against the squad car. 

He's facing charges of Domestic Assault - Strangulation which is a felony as well as Domestic Assault against a family member. 

Last week, Stanifer was arrested in connection to a deadly shooting on March 12.  According to Capt. Sherwin, Stanifer was released in that case pending further investigation.
