Rochester Man Facing Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police say a traffic stop turned into a drug bust Monday night in Rochester. 

According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, an officer did a traffic stop near the intersection of 4 Ave and 14 St. SE around 10:20 p.m. Monday, December 5 for a registration violation.

Capt. Sherwin said the officer smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer searched the vehicle and, according to Capt. Sherwin, found 272 grams of marijuana, 13 grams of butane hash oil, and 166 tablets of LSD. 

There were four people in the car and the driver, 22-year-old Samuel Coto, was arrested. He is facing charges of 4th-degree possession of a controlled substance, 5th-degree possession of a controlled substance, and 5th-degree sales of a controlled substance.
