(ABC 6 News) -- Around 4:30 p.m on Monday, November 6, a Rochester Police officer did a traffic stop on the 600 block of 15 Ave SE in Rochester.

According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, when the officer got to the car, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. The officer searched the car and, according to Capt. Sherwin, found a bag with six pounds of synthetic cannabinoids, 45 grams of marijuana and $800 in cash inside.

The officer said he tried to handcuff the driver, 36-year-old Antonio Howard, but Howard allegedly took off running. He got about a block and half when the officer caught him, took him to the ground and arrested him.

Howard is facing charges of 4th degree sales of a controlled substance in a park zone, 5th degree possession of marijuana, sales of synthetic cannabinoids, fleeing an officer on foot and multiple traffic violations including driving without a license.
