(ABC 6 News) -- The Rochester Police Department is looking for the owner of an urn stolen from a vehicle in northwest Rochester in January. 

According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, a school liaison officer found several items in the possession of a student at the Rochester Alternative Learning Center. Among those possessions; an urn, a knife, and a hatchet.

Capt. Sherwin said the student admitted to stealing things out of cars, including the small urn with ashes in it, sometime between January 26 and 28 from the area of Valleyhigh Dr. and 19th St. NW in Rochester. 

The urn has a cursive 'm' on the bottom of it.
