(ABC 6 News) -- Police were called to Olmsted Medical Center around 2:15 Monday morning for a report of a man who had been stabbed in the head. 

The assault happened on the 700 block of 9th Ave SE in Rochester. The victim told police his next-door neighbor had come to his home while he was at work and talked to his girlfriend. The girlfriend said the man was asking for her boyfriend and was holding an object behind his back. The girlfriend texted her boyfriend and told him the neighbor had come over looking for him.

The man told police he left work and went to his neighbor's house to see what he wanted. When the neighbor opened the door he allegedly charged at the victim and hit him in the forehead with a sharp object. The victim thought it was maybe a kitchen knife. 

The victim went back home and then went back to work. Once he got back to work and was still bleeding he decided to go to the hospital. 

Police are still investigating the incident. No one has been arrested yet.
