(ABC 6 News) -- Authorities say a sheriff's deputy was sitting in her squad car on the side of the road when a drunk driver pulled up behind her and stopped.

It happened about 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21 on North Broadway near the intersection of 16 1/4 St. NE.

According to Olmsted County Sheriff Captain Scott Behrns, the county's DWI deputy had just completed a traffic stop. The car she had pulled over had driven away, and she was sitting in her car finishing paperwork. Capt. Behrns said the deputy was pulled off to the side of the road and did not have her emergency lights on, when another vehicle pulled up behind her.

The deputy said the vehicle just sat there and she thought it was suspicious. She got out of her squad car to approach the vehicle and said she immediately smelled a strong odor of alcohol when she got the window.

Capt. Behrns said the driver told the deputy that he pulled up behind her waiting for her to move, because he needed to turn onto 16 1/4 St to get home.

The alleged driver was identified as 20-year-old Celso Galeana-Sanchez. Capt. Behrns said Galeana-Sanchez blew a .15. He was arrested for two counts of misdemeanor DWI.
