(ABC 6 News)-  A Rochester family had their wish granted and was able to bring loved ones home for the holidays.

Friday at Rochester International Airport was busy. Just a day before Christmas Eve, it's one of the biggest travel days this year.

"This time of year you don't know what to expect with weather but so long as the conditions are safe, we're going to get those planes in here," said Tiana Rossow, marketing manager for RST.

For the Lehman family, it'll be a day to remember. Joyce Lehman entered a radio contest, put on by Minnesota 97.5, hoping to bring her daughter's family home from Florida. She won.

The Lehman's greeted their daughter Rachel Thomas, along with Rachel’s husband and baby.

"She hasn't been home for Christmas since she joined the Air Force, so it’s been four years," Joyce said. “She was excited to see the snow. She keeps saying it isn't Christmas without the snow."

Rachel says she’s happy to be back in Minnesota with family. "It means a lot. It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m very interested to see how [the baby] does in the snow."

The contest was part of Minnesota 97.5’s Christmas Miracle series. RST helped book the flights from Florida.
