(ABC 6 News) -- Olmsted County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a string of prescription drug burglaries in Byron that they believe are tied to the same person.

According to Captain Scott Behrns, the most recent incident was reported to law enforcement Sunday, July 16.  A woman called law enforcement and said her two sons were outside their home on the 600 block of 9th Ave. NW on Friday, July 14, when a woman known to the family came to the home to drop off a graduation card.

The siblings said the woman went in the home, and about 5 minutes later the siblings heard a car door close, according to Captain Behrns.  The siblings thought it was odd the woman was in the home for that amount of time, said Captain Behrns, and then went inside where they found around 20 Oxycodone pills missing.

Captain Behrns said this is not the first time law enforcement has received a statement about the woman, but said those who have reported her as the person who is responsible for stealing the prescription drugs “don’t want to see her in trouble.”

The woman is not in custody, according to Captain Behrns, and is currently in a, “place where she cannot be accessed.”
