Power Boats Make Waves in Albert Lea's Fountain Lake

(ABC 6 News) -- After a year hiatus due to last year's flooding, power boats once again filled Fountain Lake in Albert Lea Saturday, bringing high-speed water fun to the community.

Boats traveling at speeds near 100 miles per hour raced across the lake, as hundreds watched from shore.

"It's just a fun way to spend a late September afternoon, I mean this is kind of an annual event and can you beat this weather," spectator Jim Linn said.

Last year's races had to be canceled due to heavy rain and flooding in Freeborn County.
