Pay it Forward: Diane Harry

(ABC 6 News) -- Diane Harry has a heart for felines. From kittens to cats, she’s made it her mission to prevent homeless animals as a Camp Companion volunteer.

That’s how Linda Eisterhold got to know her and decided she should be nominated.

"Diane is the most dedicated person I’ve ever seen. She will go out and live trap; she fosters a bunch of cats. If someone calls Camp Companion and the other people can't go out she'll go out at night," said Eisterhold. "She's brought a lot of great kittens into our program and she gives them a home and love. She loves them like they're all her pets, yet she can be happy for them when they get adopted by someone else."

The ABC 6 News crew pulled off the surprise outside a pet adoption event, when Diane had no idea what was coming.

"Might help her pay for the litter and cat food and medicine for the animals,” said Eisterhold.

"This is really awesome. I have been trapping cats nine summers, eight full years. I've been fostering for seven to eight. I'm on call sometimes 24/7,” said Harry. "I feel like I can't possibly give like this good back to anybody else."

Harry is currently housing 11 kittens until they’re healthy enough for adoption.
