(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man is dead after a confrontation with four suspects in their 20's.
Tuesday,Rochester Police announced four people were arrested in connected to the shooting and death of 40-year-old Ahmed Muafaq Abdulhu Al Naddf outside his home.
The incident happened Monday around 9 p.m. on the 2800 block of Charles Court Northwest.
"It's a tragedy," Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin said, "We learned that there may have been surveillance video in the office area of the apartment complex, that surveillance footage was reviewed and that led us to contact with four potential suspects."
Eric Lee, Sao Yim, and Traequan Bamlounghong were eventually found at an apartment close by and were arrested and booked into the Olmsted County Detention Center. Deante Stanifer, 24, was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
"He was located after, seen leaving a residence nearby on 25th Street Northwest in the 3000 block," Sherwin said.
Sherwin also said police received conflicting information from the suspects about a minor car accident between them and Al Naddf, and police believe they did not know each before the shooting.
"That's not verified, there's no damage on the vehicles that may have been involved, we've already looked into that aspect of it," Sherwin said.
The surveillance footage also showed the suspects robbing Al Naddf.
"After he was shot and on the ground, two of the suspects are seen going through the victim's pockets,” Sherwin said.
Police used a search warrant at the apartment where they made the three arrests and found criminal evidence.
"We did recover a firearm that we believed was used in this incident as well as some property belonging to the victim," Sherwin said.
Sherwin also said these suspects will likely be charged on Wednesday. He said it looks like 2nd-degree murder charges would be the minimum.
