(ABC 6 News) - MNOSHA says it's monitoring the situation at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing in Dodge Center after an explosion Wednesday morning.

MNOSHA spokesperson James Honerman provided ABC 6 News with a statement saying, "Minnesota OSHA is monitoring the situation at McNeilus and is reviewing details of the incident.

MN OSHA investigates to determine the cause of such accidents, whether existing OSHA standards were violated and whether the promulgation of additional standards is necessary to help avoid a recurrence of similar accidents."

Honerman also provided ABC 6 News with background information on prior investigations stating, "MNOSHA Compliance gives priority to an inspection if more than three employees have been hospitalized following a workplace incident.

Since 2008, MNOSHA has paid a visit to the McNeilus site for 5 investigations to their Dodge Center site.  Two of those times were a joint inspection with a health investigator. One time was to check on a repeat issue.

The most recent inspection was March 2016, with another investigating agency. The result was 5 serious citations.

OSHA also investigated McNeilus on Sept. 11, 2015, and the result was one serious citation.

In total, McNeilus has been issued 16 'serious' citations, 1 'non-serious' citation since 2008 at their Dodge Center location."
