(ABC 6 News) -- Several people were sent to the hospital following a Mason City house fire.
Just before 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Mason City Police and Fire Departments were called to 22 North Jefferson for a report of a house fire. The house was occupied by clients of Opportunity Village, an organization that supports and houses people with disabilities.
A neighbor called authorities when he saw the fire, and ran into the house to alert the residents and helped get them out safely.
Several residents, and the neighbor, were taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
