(ABC 6 News) -- As revelers look for places to ring in 2018, local bars and restaurants are gearing up for a busy night.

At the Austin Eagles' Club, the doors opened at 11 a.m., and even mid-afternoon folks were starting to come by to watch the Vikings game and get a jump on the celebrations.

"We have a photo booth, we have prizes to give away, we're going to have champagne toasts at midnight to ring in the new year and the local band is True North," Carmel Taylor with the club said.

In Elkton, owners Mike and Kathrynn Dortland are going straight from a holiday party to a new year party.

"We're expecting a good turnout tonight, we've got several reservations already called in," Mike Dortland said mid-afternoon Sunday.

They also plan to have live music and a steak, shrimp, and champagne dinner for two for $25.

Other places holding New Years' celebrations are the Albert Lea Moose Lodge, the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, the Blue Moon Ballroom in Rochester and The Place 2B in Mason City.
