(ABC 6 News) - The season of giving is upon us all and one Pine Island woman has her entire community behind her during an uncertain battle with brain cancer.

Kelly Leibold is the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Director and she was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.  Liebold's friend, Sara Hartzell, decided she wanted to do something to help the young woman with her living and medical expenses; that's where Caps for Kelly comes in.

Hartzell said, "I wanted to do something....I didn't feel like I could organize a benefit or anything like that, so one day I said 'Hey! I can make these and I can sell them!' and that's where 'Caps for Kelly' came from."

The caps are tiny stocking cap ornaments and sell for $3.  Right now you can buy them at My Happy Place craft store in Zumbrota, Better Brew Coffee House in Pine Island, and they will soon be available at Trailhead Grill also in Pine Island.

Liebold says, "The one thing I wish I could do throughout this experience is hold up a metaphorical mirror and show everyone that they're the ones inspiring me through all of this... I've had lots of people tell me how 'inspirational' and 'strong' I am, and I'm not denying that at all but I want them to know that they're having the same impact on me."

You can also make a donation by visiting her GoFundMe page.
