Ice Hawks Honor Veterans and Host a Military Appreciation Night

November 11, 2017 11:54 PM

(ABC 6 News) -- The Rochester Ice Hawks showed their appreciation to veterans on Saturday.  Before the game, there was a military color guard presentation during the national anthem followed by a special puck drop by a war veteran. Organizers say it's important to thank our veterans for everything they have done for our country, "Our veterans sacrifice a lot for us. This is the least we can do, have fun after a long day of veterans events, just have fun and let them know their community supports them."

A special military jersey auction was also held. Funds raised will to the Southeast Minnesota Youth Hockey Military Scholarship.
