Accident in Howard County Sends Two to the Hospital

(ABC 6 News) - The Howard County Sheriff's Office says that two people were taken to Mayo Clinic in Rochester after an accident on Highway 63 a few miles south of Chester, Iowa Wednesday morning.

The sheriff's office says the accident happened around 7:15 a.m. when a car being driven northbound on Highway 63  by Jeffery Waller, of Davenport, crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by Denny Lubert of Chester.


Waller was airlifted to Mayo Clinic where both he and his passenger are being treated.  Waller's condition is listed as fair, his passenger is unknown at this time.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Chester First Responders, LeRoy Ambulance, Chester Fire Department and Iowa State Patrol also assisted with the accident.
