(ABC 6 News) -- Two people were arrested after law enforcement said they led Olmsted County deputies on a high-speed chase and took off running.

Around 9:38 p.m. on Friday, October 20, an Olmsted County Sheriff’s deputy ran a license plate on a pick-up truck just outside of Byron.  The license plates turned up as “stolen”, according to Captain Scott Behrns with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office.  As the deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, Captain Sherwin said it took off at a high rate of speed on County Road 34 East.

The deputy reports the vehicle’s speed exceeded 90 miles per hour.  Another deputy in the area also tried to stop the vehicle before it came to a stop in the 1500 block of Weatherhill Court in Rochester.  Two people ran out of the vehicle, said Captain Behrns.  A K9 unit was brought in before one of the suspects surrendered to law enforcement.  A short time later, the second suspect was also found.

Law enforcement determined the vehicle had been stolen out of Wabasha County.  Captain Behrns said possible stolen items were found in the vehicle along with 15 grams of a crystal-like substance that did not test positive for methamphetamine.

19-year-old Isaac Cronin of Brownsdale faces a number of charges; including fleeing a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.  He also had felony warrants in Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona Counties.  27-year-old Erik Cole of Stewartville had a felony warrant in Goodhue County.
