The game was recorded and posted to an internet live streaming service Forest City High School uses.

Forest City Community School District Superintendent Darwin Lehmann told ABC 6 News that as soon as the school learned of the comments on the video, which was posted on an internet live streaming service, it was taken down and officials from the opposing school's district were notified of the situation.

In the video, you can hear a man and a woman having a conversation.  At one point the man read three names from the opposing team and said, "they have a lot of... apparently" and the woman said, "Espanol people."  The man went on to say, "Espanol people in Eagle Grove."  The woman said, "Gee, I wonder why that is," and added, "The latest there is that they're just going to gradually come into town.  Yeah right."  The male announcer then said, "Yeah, uhuh [...] gradually work their way in."  The man goes on to say, "As Trump would say, go back to where they came from."  The woman responded by saying, "Well some would say that, yeah.  Some days I feel like that too."

The station said "these comments were deplorable, and the staff and management of KIOW in no way condones or supports these comments.

A statement provided by the Forest City Community School District said one of the announcers was also a district employee and that she has since been placed on administrative leave.  The statement noted that the individual was not functioning in an "official capacity" or performing any duties associated with the district at the time of the broadcast.
