(ABC 6 NEWS)- Teens volunteered at Willow Creek golf course in Rochester on Aug 23, to help set up flag poles around the course.

Operation hometown gratitude, a Rochester public school district effort that sends care packages to local troops overseas has partnered with Tee it Up for the past 3 years.

Each group had their own section to cover; along with a golf cart full of metal poles and ribbons.

The flags will be posted are used to represent patriotism.

Ben Newbegin, a junior from Mayo High school said he enjoys helping out with events that helps troops in anyway.

"I’m going to do it next year because I’m still going to be a part of it; it feels pretty good to help out with everything," said Newbegin.

The process took 2 hours to complete, and students say they can’t wait to do it again next year
