Pink Heals Tour Makes a Stop in Rochester

(ABC 6 NEWS)- Some first responders from all over the country came to Rochester showing off their true colors.

On Wednesday, the Pink Heals tour came through town during its cross-country mobile mission to deliver a smile and lend support to anyone who is sick.

“That’s the beauty of this program; it’s about any type of disease or illness so it’s not just cancer it’s everything," said Justin Cook, tour volunteer.

It started out as an idea to bring the community together and turned into a country-wide event to show love to all.

People were able to meet firefighters and sign the pink fire truck in support of someone they know battling an illness.

Lexi Dunn is undergoing chemo at Mayo Clinic; she said she couldn’t believe her eyes when she stepped outside.

"Well, it kind of gives me a sense of happiness and relief because with the medicine I don’t like doing it, this morning I was crying and now I’m here with a smile on my face,"

 The tour still has one month left, its next stop in Watertown, South Dakota.
