Open Houses Promote Fire Prevention

(ABC 6 News) - Fire stations across the country are promoting fire safety this week.

This year's theme is "Plan two ways out," reminding people to have two exit options in their home if there is a fire. Station 1 in Rochester had some fun hands-on activity for kids.


We talked to one little girl who was very excited to be there.

"I think there we spray out pretend fires, and I see a flashing light over there," Ellis said.

Austin, Kasson, Oronoco and Stewartville also held open houses 

Rochester will be holding another open house at all its fire stations on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Other open houses this week include:

Grand Meadow, Thursday, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Chatfield, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Albert Lea, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
