(KSTP) - A man who entered a Scheels store hoping to have his firearm serviced triggered a short lockdown over the lunch hour at an Eden Prairie mall Tuesday, police say.

In a release, Eden Prairie police said a mall employee reported to officers than an adult male carrying a gun case entered the Scheels store at the Eden Prairie Center with the intent of having his firearm serviced.

When told there were no gun services at that location, the man left the mall.

But the report of a firearm triggered a lockdown, beginning at around 12:08 p.m. The all-clear came around 1 p.m.

Officers responded to the scene after the initial report and began the process of clearing the mall. Police said there were no reports of injuries.

Those at the mall were asked to shelter in place.

Reports from the scene indicated people were being evacuated from the Target entrance, and a large police presence was visible on that side of the mall.
