November 22, 2017 07:50 PM
(ABC 6 NEWS)- Reverend Nancy Nord Bence is a Lutheran pastor who serves as the Executive Director of Protect Minnesota.
Protect Minnesota is a public health organization that works towards limiting gun rights. She works as a pastor at a Lutheran church, where she took part in active shooter training.
Nord Bence worked with law enforcement after the community had a discussion after one the large shootings.
“We felt that it is very important to meet with law enforcement to put in place the best safest plan for our church and to educate our leaders in what that plan was,” Nord Bence said.
Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose agrees that the community and law enforcement should work together in efforts to make people feel safer.
The active shooter training consists of putting both law enforcement and the public in real life type of scenarios so they know how to respond.
The next available training session will be at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office on December 4th at 1:00 p.m. The sheriff asks for you to bring a valid driver’s license and to call the office to reserve a spot.
