(ABC 6 News) -- Albert Lea Police are thanking concerned citizens for reporting suspicious activity that led to two arrests in separate theft incidents around the city.

Police said tips from citizens led to a 16-year-old boy being arrested for stealing a firearm and a 19-year-old Faribault woman's arrest in connection with multiple recent burglaries in the area.

In the first incident, police said they received a call around 4:40 a.m. Thursday of three people knocking on the door of a residence in the city. Officers made contact with the 16-year-old, who was later arrested for possession of stolen property and theft of a firearm.

Five hours later, officers were called to the Hardee's on South Broadway Avenue for a report of a suspicious person. Once there, they arrested Kalley Chadderdon, 19, of Faribault, in connection with several burglaries in the Albert Lea area.

Officers found Chadderdon with more than $1,000 worth of stolen property, including tools, drills, and air compressors, as well as methamphetamine, police said. She faces charges of felony possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and driving while impaired under the influence of a controlled substance.
