(ABC 6 News) -- The holidays rolled into Austin Wednesday evening as the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train made a stop, bringing lights and music right along with it.
It's a train that couldn't be missed from a mile away. With lights shining bright, people lined up in Austin to catch the holiday train.
For 19 years, Canadian Pacific holiday train has been collecting food donations, money and raising awareness about hunger in the United States and Canada.
Along with bringing holiday cheer, Canadian Pacific donated $4,500 to the Austin Salvation Army. On Tuesday they also donated $10,000 to Channel One in Rochester.
"For a lot of the small food shelves that we connect with this sustains them for an entire year, so it’s a huge thing it really is a magical train for many different reasons," said Jeremy Berry, Canadian Pacific holiday train member.
The train also made a stop in Mason City, Iowa Wednesday night and will be in Charles City Thursday morning from 11:30 a.m to noon.
