The program, which began back in 2011, raised more than $300,000 for breast cancer research at the Hormel Institute in 2017, the institute's fundraising director Gail Dennison said.

In total, Paint the Town Pink has raised more than $1.1 million since its inception.  Much of the funding goes to cover research projects that Dennison said wouldn't be funded otherwise.

Dennison said they're hoping to raise at least $300,000 next year as well.

The official program dates are listed below:

Paint the Town Pink 2018

January 27-February 11

  • Plunging for Pink: Jan. 27
  • Fishing for a Cure: Feb. 3
  • Paint the Rink Pink: Feb. 10
  • Smashing Cancer Demolition Derby: Feb. 11

More information will be posted on the program's Facebook page as its official kickoff nears.
