(ABC 6 News) - An Austin man faces multiple charges after leading police on a car and foot chase through northwest Austin.

Around 10 p.m. Friday police got a tip from an anonymous source that 29-year-old Christopher Wright was at a Kwik Trip store in Austin, and that Wright had missed a court appearance in Freeborn County and there was a warrant for his arrest.
The anonymous tipster also described the vehicle Wright was in.

Officers checked all three Kwik Trip locations in Austin and saw the vehicle leaving the Kwik Trip on 4th Street NW.
The officer activated the lights and siren on his squad car to get Wright to pull over, but Wright allegedly tried to flee in his car, before eventually abandoning the car on 7th Street and trying to escape on foot.

The officer chased Wright on foot through several back yards before taking Wright into custody while a second officer waited at Wright’s car to watch three passengers.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said investigators found 11.39 grams of meth and 4.41 grams of suspected marijuana in the car.

Wright was jailed on charges that  could include fleeing in a motor vehicle, fleeing on foot, possession of a controlled substance and D-W-I. One of the passengers, 36-year-old Billy Wright, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
