Rochester Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault Attempt, Stabbing

(ABC 6 News) — A Minneapolis woman was admitted to Saint Marys after she says a man stabbed her in the neck during an attempted sexual assault.

According to The Rochester Police Department on Saturday evening at 3300 block of Bandel Drive Northwest a woman reported that she was at a relative's house when 23-year-old Erickson Godi, of Rochester, attempted to sexually assault her.


The woman told officers she fought with Godi, and that he stabbed her in the neck.  Police say the woman screamed and told Godi to get her a towel from the kitchen, when he left the room she ran out of the residence and drove to a nearby gas station and called police.

Police arrived at the gas station around 6:15 p.m., the woman was transported to Saint Marys with non-life threatening injuries.

Godi is facing at minimum charges of 2nd degree assault, his first appearance in court is Tuesday.
