(ABC 6 News) - A Rochester man has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the shooting death of a teenager in January.

The charge stems from an incident on January 14 where Weiss shot and killed 17-year-old Muhammad Rahim.

Court documents indicate Weiss and Rahim had gotten into a car accident and a confrontation ensued.

Weiss claims his actions were in self-defense and that Rahim had acted in a threatening manner and attempted to reach out and touch Weiss' gun.

Witness statements said Rahim was standing near Weiss but did not make any physical contact.

The passenger in Rahim's car said both he and Rahim were standing and speaking to Weiss in an aggressive manner prior to the shooting.

A jury trial is scheduled to begin on July 9.
