(ABC 6 News) --  It's another reminder that we're stronger together. When an Albert Lea Girl Scout started working toward her Silver Award, she came up with an idea for making the community better -- with the community's help.

Megan Raatz is living up to the Girl Scout promise, "To help people at all times", "And I just wanted to help people in need." Megan continued to say that she's doing this with the assistance of people in the community, "I'm asking different clubs and businesses for like shampoo and soap, and like cleaning products for the homeless people."

Her idea is to put together 50 personal care kits, which will then be given to members of the community. The hope is that they will keep those kits in their cars, and share them when they see someone in need, "If we all started doing it, it would help them out a lot. And maybe help them get into a better place."
