(ABC 6 News) -- A 4-year-old is recovering after being hit by a snowmobile Sunday afternoon.

Around 2:40 p.m. on February 11, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a young child hit by a snowmobile on the 7100 block of Collegeview Road E, in Eyota.

Captain Scott Behrns said the child’s father was riding a snowmobile with his 4-year-old son while his other son, who is 8, was riding another snowmobile.  The father got off the snowmobile at one point, said Captain Behrns, and the 4-year-old also got off.

Captain Behrns said the 8-year-old was riding up a small hill, and when he came down he accidentally hit the 4-year-old who was at the bottom of the hill.

The 4-year-old was transported to the hospital by Eyota Ambulance and suffered some bruising and a possible broken nose.
