(ABC 6 News) - Two Hayfield men are facing felony assault charges after allegedly attacking a man Wednesday morning.

45-year-old Tommy Robinson and 46-year-old Roderick Washington are facing one charge each of 2nd-Degree assault with a dangerous weapon, which is a felony.

According to court documents, around 1:48 a.m. a Dodge County Deputy responded to a medical call on the 900 block of 3rd Ave SE. in Hayfield.

The deputy found a man bleeding from a 6-10 inch cut on his head that appeared to be almost to his skull.

The man told the deputy "those f------ n------ attacked me with a machete" and that the assault happened at the "N----- apartment" before being taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

At the same time, another team of deputies was responding to a disturbance call on the 100 block of 1st Ave. NE in Hayfield.

Robinson and Washington told deputies they had been drinking at a local restaurant and that an unknown man had offered to give them a ride.

The suspects told deputies when they got to their apartment the victim tried to rob them and they fought him off.

Deputies found a bloody pillowcase and a bloodied machete in Washington's apartment.  Blood was also found on the door frame, kitchen wall, and a trail of blood droplets down the stairs and out the back door.

Robinson and Washington were arrested and taken to the Steele County Detention Center.

Both received a bail hearing on Thursday and were given $100,000 bond without conditions.

Robinson's initial court appearance is scheduled for March 7.

Washington's is scheduled for March 5.
