(ABC 6 News) - Two Austin youngsters face charges for allegedly shooting out the window with a stolen BB gun.

Police heard from two witnesses just before ten o’clock Sunday night. One reported seeing a gun barrel pointing out the window of a house on 2nd Avenue NE. Around the same time, a motorist reported hearing something hit their car.

Police went to the home and found the boys … an 11-year-old and a 12-year-old at the house. Police Chief Brian Krueger said the boys initially denied shooting out the window, but when a BB gun was found hidden in bedclothes in the room, the 11-year-old told investigators he had found the gun in the bed of a brown pick-up truck earlier in the day. The boys admitted they took turns shooting out the window, and officers found damage to the siding of a nearby house.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said the 12-year-old boy, who was visiting the house where the shooting occurred was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, and because he was already on probation he was taken to the Olmsted County Juvenile detention center.

The 11-year-old who lived at the house was turned over to the custody of his mother.

Charges related to the shooting are pending.

No one was hurt.
