Who You Going to Call? Drought Busters!
October 06, 2017 04:05 AM
Showers and storms Thursday was just the start of a soggy stretch heading into the weekend. That's coming as both good and bad news. Good news, it's helping with drought conditions over SE MN & NE IA. Bad news, it's going to be a soggy night for all the Homecoming/football games.
We are heading out the door into areas of fog lowering visibility around the area this morning. Look for a few isolated showers to pop-up during the mid morning hours. The steady, more intense bands of rain will move in around and after 2 p.m., lasting throughout the evening & overnight.
Bring the umbrellas with you to the games tonight! A good half inch of rain will be possible by kick-off, with more to come. The system bringing the rain moves ENE overnight & into our Saturday.
This keeps the rain chance in place heading into Saturday morning & afternoon, as wrap-around showers persist. We should be clear of the rain later Saturday afternoon & evening, with 1-3" expected. Sunday will be the drier of the two days over the weekend, with highs rebounding back to near 70 as well.
Have a great weekend everyone! Stay dry!
