IBM Employees Strive to Give Back

September 27, 2017 01:13 AM

(ABC 6 News) -- IBM in Rochester is pumping up its employees for their annual campaign to help those most in need.

Employees were treated to a carnival with booths teaching them about the work of non-profits in the community.

This year IBM is trying to raise more than $800,000.

Some of that money will go to places like Bear Creek Services, which provides services for people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries.

"When the IBMer’s come to our group home and help paint the house and do the landscaping, it gives our residence so much pride and ownership in their home. They're so proud to be part of the community," said Pam Alberts, the events coordinator for Bear Creek Services.

IBM employees will also be donating their time.

Last year they volunteered for more than 3,600 hours.
