(ABC 6 News) – It was a big celebration at the Austin Spam Museum on Friday.

Bonnie Johnson was the 100,000th person to visit the museum’s new location since re-opening in April.  Johnson is from Austin, but had never visited before.

“I thought there was something going on inside because I could see people hovering around the door,” said Johnson. “So yeah, it was a surprise.”

Johnson received 200 cans of Spam, which will be donated to the local food bank of her choice. She says she plans to give them to the Austin Salvation Army.

The museum has had visitors from all 50 states and more than 60 different countries.
