(ABC 6 NEWS) - The City of Rochester is asking Rochester residents to be aware of a construction project that begins Monday.
The city issued the following press release:
Beginning Monday September 8, 2014 at 6:00 PM work will began on the diamond grinding of the concrete pavement on 55th St. N.W. from the West Frontage Road to the East Frontage Road of HWY 52. The diamond grinding is being completed to smooth out the rehabilitated pavement on both sides of the bridge as part of the 55th St. N.W. project.
The schedule for this work is to begin at 6:00 on Monday September 8, and continue until 6:00 AM Tuesday. Because diamond grinding is a slow and meticulous process it is expected that this same 6:00 PM to 6:00AM schedule will reoccur every week night next week expecting to be completed by Saturday September 13 at 6:00 AM. In the event of inclement weather work may be extended until Sunday September 14, at 6:00 AM.
Work is being scheduled over these consecutive evenings and nights to maintain traffic flows during the peak of the day. 55th St. N.W east and west bound traffic will be maintained throughout the schedule. However, as the diamond grinding proceeds by Frontage Roads and the Highway 52 off and on ramps, delays can be expected.
Please drive with care while driving through the work zone. The Project is scheduled to be completed at the end of September.
