(ABC 6 News) -- A Goodhue woman was arrested after parking her car in the middle of the highway and later biting a deputy.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office got a call around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday that a car was parked in the middle of Highway 52 near Interstate 90. When deputies arrived, a Minnesota State Trooper was already at the scene.
Detective Kirby Long with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says there was a woman inside the car refusing to cooperate. He says she appeared to be under the influence and was acting paranoid and that she was using a pliers to break things in her car.
Eventually, law enforcement was able to get the woman to put her car in neutral so they could roll it to the side of the road. After several attempts to get her out of the vehicle, we’re told the state trooper had to break the window and pull her out. In attempts to arrest her, the woman bit a deputy twice in the arm, drawing blood.
The 29-year-old woman was taken to Mayo Clinic Saint Mary's Campus for evaluation, but admitted to officials she had been high on methamphetamine. Detective Long says she’ll likely faces charges of assaulting a peace officer and obstructing the legal process.
