(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Police have made an arrest in connection to an armed robbery near Mayo Park.

Lual Deng, age 21, was arrested Wednesday morning on the 1500 block of 50th Street NW in Rochester for aggravated robbery.

The first incident happened last Monday when officers were called to Mayo Park after a 16 year-old told police he was tackled to the ground while skateboarding behind the Mayo Civic Center. Authorities say a group of five to six men tackled him, held him at gunpoint, and demanded his belongings. They got away with a small amount of cash and the teen's cell phone. Police say this is the incident Deng was arrested for.

Police showed the victim a series of pictures and say the victim immediately recognized Deng.

A second incident took place at that same park the following night. Authorities say a man was walking through the park when five to six men wrestled him to the ground and held a gun to his head. They kicked and hit the man, before taking his backpack, which contained a cell phone. Police believe the two incidents could be linked.
