(ABC 6 News) -- Julia Zerke was born with spina bifida.  The 8-year-old Austin girl uses an adaptive bike to get around school, but she wanted one at home.

With the help of the community, Julia raised $2,000 through facebook and a lemonade stand.

On Wednesday, Julia's new adaptive bike arrived.  Her mother, Kim, says she is extremely thankful to the community that helped Julia achieve her goal.

"This is just one more way to make her realize, hey, I'm just like everyone else, and just because my legs don't work the same way as anyone else doesn't mean I'm less of a person or I can't do this. I can do anything," Kim Zerke said.

Julia says the first place she wants to ride the new bike is to her school.
