(ABC 6 News) -- Police are asking for help from the public in locating three men who robbed an Austin convenience store at gunpoint.

It happened at 10:22 Tuesday night at the Hari Food Mart on 21st street northeast, just off I-90 across from the Austin airport.

Three employees were in the store when three robbers entered the building; one of the suspects was carrying a handgun, and the others were carrying baseball bats.

Police say two of the employees were struck on the knees with baseball bats and held in a bathroom.

The third employee was punched in the face.

The three suspects left the convenience store walking southbound.

A police K-9 was brought to the scene and followed the suspects’ trail until it ended abruptly a short distance away, leading them to believe the robbers may have had a car at that location.

The employees and a witness who was approaching the store at the time of the robbery described the men as wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts with the hoods up and pulled tight. They were also said to be wearing sunglasses or something that completely covered their faces.

The suspect with the handgun was described as being between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2.

Their race is unknown.

They remain at large, and there are no suspects at this time.

The three employees all declined medical attention.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Austin police department.
