BLAINE, Minn. (AP) - An intensive daylong search in Blaine has failed to find a man accused of killing his ex-boyfriend last month.
Law officers returned to the Anoka County-Blaine Airport Tuesday but found no sign of Lyle "Ty" Hoffman.
Blaine Police Chief Chris Olson says the search was prompted by an officer's early-morning spotting of a man near the airport who may have resembled Hoffman.
The Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1w3mFKF ) reports the tip came after a bank robbery in Blaine Sunday committed by a man who looked like Hoffman.
Hoffman is wanted in the Aug. 11 shooting death of his former romantic and business partner Kelly Phillips at an Arden Hills gas station.
