(ABC 6 NEWS) -   Rochester police were in a stand-off for about an hour Wednesday morning on the 3500 block of 21st Ave NW.

Police say they got a call about a woman screaming. When they got to the house, a woman ran out the back door. She said her boyfriend was inside and was intoxicated. She says he was assaulting and choking her, and tried to keep her from leaving.

When police tried to talk to the man, they say he barricaded himself inside his house. Police say they were in a stand-off with him for about an hour, before he finally surrendered.

He’s been identified as 41-year-old Joseph Rodriguez, and was taken into custody. He’s expected to appear in court later this week, and could face charges of false imprisonment, and assault.
