(ABC 6 News) -- Two people were killed in a crash Thursday night in Goodhue County.
The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of County Roads 9 and 7 in Belle Creek Township.
Officials say a woman in a Ford Focus was driving southbound on County Road 7 when she failed to stop at a stop sign. The Focus struck a Chevy Traverse that was traveling eastbound on County Road 9. Both vehicles ended up in an adjacent field.
Two passengers in the Focus, 50-year-old Blanka Burt of Utica and 51-year-old Rosa Alvarez of Mexico, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle and a third passenger were transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. The driver and passenger of the Traverse were not taken to the hospital.
