(ABC 6 News) --  A new airline is coming to the Mason City Airport with a new destination.

Air Choice Once, based in St. Louis, will offer flights to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport starting in November.

The Department of Transportation gave them a two-year Essential Air Service contract.

"“We are very happy with the decision of the DOT and cannot wait to grow our presence in Iowa!" Shane Storz, Air Choice One CEO, said in a press release.  "We are eager to introduce Mason City to Air Choice One’s dependable service.  Also, with the introduction to our new hub, Chicago O’Hare, we hope the Mason City community and the surrounding communities will once again come out and support their local airport.  Thank you to all of those throughout the community that have supported our effort to restore a first class connection to a great airport in Chicago.”

More information about fares and flight schedules are expected to be released in the upcoming weeks.

Air Choice One will replace great lakes airline which left in January, and flew to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
