(ABC 6 News) -- Destination Medical Center plans are moving along and now Governor Mark Dayton is weighing in on the project.
Over a 20-year period, some of the goals include bringing $5 billion in private investments to Rochester, creating as many as 45,000 new jobs and generating around $8 billion in net tax revenue over the next 35 years.
According to Governor Dayton the DMC project is going on as planned, "It's off to a good start, the state commitment is secure and of course Mayo and the city and county are all strong partners so I'm very very excited about the future."
The third public forum for DMC will be held on September 11. It will be open to the public as an opportunity to learn more about DMC's plans. The public can also share opinions and ideas.
